Movie Review: Ever After (1998)

Hey Dearies! Since I reviewed the book for this movie, I wanted to review the movie. Now, the book and the movie are very similar, but this movie is one of my all-time favorite Cinderella stories ever!

This is a movie that I have watched over and over again! Growing up, this is a movie that my mother and I could watch over and over again.

I also LOVE movies with the old setting or back when we used swords and axes instead of guns. I just love everything about that time period, I also think that love is more free and full of love back in those times as well.

The background for the story, if you haven’t read my review about the book, is that Danielle is 8 years old when her father remarries her new step-mother, who also happens to have 2 daughters around her age as well.

Her father ends up having a stroke while riding off for business and the step-mother is left with Danielle and their manor. After that, Danielle is forced to work and become a maid.

This also leads her to meet Prince Henry, who doesn’t want to be forced into an arranged marriage, steals her father’s horse and she knocks him off of the horse with just throwing an apple at his head. However, Henry doesn’t really look at her face but gives her money for your silence.

ever-after-ss1

Back in the day, rules were followed to a point, if you did anything, dress above your station, hurt any of the royal family, steal, murder, etc, you were hung or stripped of your title and became a slave/maid.

Danielle dressed above her station, to save one of her father’s employees from being shipped off to the Americas, which led Henry to want to know who she was, just because she talked so passionately about the problems that were happening around the country.

I don’t want to give away any more of the movie, but I will say Danielle is very outspoken and isn’t afraid to voice her option. She stands up for others and she’s so passionate about it.

What I really like about her situation is that she has lived both lifestyles, which makes her understand the problems for both and how the poor or lower class is treated with trash, with no say for themselves because being ‘slaves’, which are controlled were to go by the coins in the rich folk’s pockets.

She inspires others to not judge a book by it’s cover and treat everyone fairly. Which is something I love about her character.

What do you think about this twist on a Cinderella story? Have you seen it or want to? Let me know in the comments down below!

Also, if you didn’t know this was created into a book and want to know how good it is, here is the link for the book review I did for it: https://katiesblog96971617.com/2020/04/28/book-review-ever-after-laurel-leaf-books/

Product Review – HUE HD Webcam

Hey Dearies! Forgot to post this Saturday, but I wanted to review this webcam since it was something that I ended up getting for myself when I was doing Facebook lives all the time.

One of the reasons as to why I was looking into webcams that were overhead, was because I wanted to record videos of my crocheting so that I could post them on my blog and/or to YouTube.

Most of the camera’s that I found were between $99-$200. Since I didn’t know anyone else, I figured to see how well the cheaper camera would do. Now, a lot of the time it is a hit or miss when you buy something that is cheaper, so I took a chance.

When I got this item, I paid $50 buck for it on Amazon, which wasn’t too bad, I just hoped that it would do the job that I was hoping it would do, which is sort of did. It also came in four different colors: green, red, blue, and of course black. I got the green one.

Here is the link for the Webcam: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TTFEWG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you have been following me since the beginning, you know that some of my lives are used with my phone and a tripod, but in some of the other videos, you couldn’t see the tripod, which was when I was using the HUE Webcam.

Now, before I purchase any products, especially on Amazon, I always just see the reviews, both good and bad, which for this product, it was kinda split in half. Meaning it worked for some and others, not so much.

For me, the first few times I worked with the camera, it worked great, downloading the CD program worked on my computer and it worked with no problems, but after a few times of trying to record longer and live, it started cutting out or not working.

I’m not sure if it was my computer or not, but it made it really hard for me to want to record or try to go live. I would even uninstall it and reinstall back onto my computer, sometimes it works that way, other times, not to much.

The good thing that I liked about the camera when it was working for me, was when I could adjust the picture or video clearly by turning the lens of the camera. I also like how there is a light to indicate when the webcam is plugged in, however, there is no manual control to turn it off and on.

Also, another feature is that you can attach and detach the camera from the base, which I found really helpful because if the base doesn’t want to work for you, you can always plug the camera directly into your computer base.

I might have to try it out on my laptop, and see if it works or not, and I will update when I do that.

Overall, for the price, it was okay, I wouldn’t get it again unless it was a last resort or they had it upgraded to something that was better than before. If anything, I would try out one of the more expensive ones, just to see if there is a major distance.

The good news is that, in good lighting, it records great! I just don’t understand why it was cutting in and out all the time. One of the options that I found very helpful, was that you could adjust the camera very easily, to any angle you needed it to be.

Have you tried out this camera? How was it for you? Or did you have the same problems as I did? Let me know in the comments down below and if there are any products you would like me to try out, let me know in the comments as well.

Book Review – Ever After (Laurel-Leaf Books)

Hey Dearies! Back with another book review for you all! So, this one I never thought this was really a book, but it is and you can find it on Amazon.

Ever After is a motion picture that Drew Barrymore stars in as the main character, Danielle. This movie is one of my all-time favorite version of a Cinderella story, next to Hillary Duffs more modern version in A Cinderella Story.

The ‘Cinderella’ story has been told in many different ways in, by different writers and in different genres. In my opinion, ‘Cinderella’s story is one of the easiest recreations that any writer can do, but I’m always curious to see what writers come up with and try to do.

The same goes for any other fairy tale story, but I think this version is the best because not only is it in the perfect timeline and location to do it.

The theme of where this Cinderella story is set more like how the original Cinderella story started. Danielle lives with her father, her more died in childbirth and her father raises her the best he can. Of course, when she is 8, he re-marries Baroness Rodmilla of Ghent, otherwise known as her evil stepmother, and has two daughters of her own.

However, the reason why Rodmilla marries Danielle’s father is to get further up the line, or into the castle, basically wanting to live the life of riches. So, she really doesn’t care about Danielle, anyway, makes Danielle a ‘slave’ when her father dies.

I will say, Danielle puts up with a bunch of crap as a servant, but how she meets Prince Henry is even funnier than how the other versions. She ends up meeting him and throws apples at him thinking that he is stealing their horse.

The entire book is an exact play-by-play of the movie, which made me feel like I was just reading the movie and I ended up finishing it in a day. So, instead of watching the movie, you can read it, however, depending on how fast you read, it could take a day, perfect for passing the time.

There are only a few slight things that weren’t in the movie, but even if it wasn’t, it doesn’t change the way the book is, instead, I feel like it gives more of a backstory to some of the parts that are ‘rushed’ when created into a movie, or they were parts that they didn’t put into the movie.

Overall, this is an amazing book, even though it is literally the movie script, but in a book form and since I don’t own the movie, it’s not a bad way to pass the time. Perfect for a rainy or snowy day when you can’t go anywhere and want to snuggle up to a good book.

I also think that it would be a great bedtime story or a book that you could read to your kids before bed, you won’t finish it all before bed, but you could finish a chapter a night before bed no problem.

So, since I’ve reviewed the book, later in this month, I will be reviewing the movie because you know that’s what makes sense to do, right?

What do you think about the book? Were you as shocked as I to find out that there was a book to the movie? Let me know in the comments below.

T.V. Show Review – Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014)

Hey Dearies! Here is another T.V. Show review that I have for you all! So, lately, I’ve been picking out more ‘biker’ books on Wattpad to read, which I have also found to fascinating about. I didn’t start reading books like that until after I watched Sons of Anarchy.

The show is about a group of bikers in Charming that are selling guns to other groups and clubs around. Not to mention, they are dealing with family relationships, other biker clubs, and of course the police.

Most of the show revolves around Jax, which is the vice president of the Sons and his father was apart of the biker gang but was killed and left behind a book, that his father wrote, about how he wanted the club to be.

In other words, Jax’s father never wanted to get into guns or drugs, nothing illegal, since he wanted the club to be more like a family than partners in a war battle. However, that all changed with Clay became president, which was Jax’s father’s best friend.

Not to mention Clay married Gemma, which is Jax’s mother after Jax’s father had died. This is weird, but you then find out that Clay and Gemma were getting together while they were still married.

The first season puts you on a roller coaster of problems and action. You not only see Jax struggle with his ex-wife almost killing their unborn son but an old flame of his, Tara, comes back to town.

But once you finish that first episode, you are glued into watching the show more and more. Well, for me, that was what it was like.

There are a lot of heartbreaking moments were main cast members die and the ending sad, but shocking. I don’t want to spoil it for those that really want to watch, but don’t Google what happens in the end like I did. Bad idea.

Overall, it is a show that definitely keeps you on your feet and makes you want to finish it till the end of the seasons.

Oh, and if you like Jax, as much as I do, he gets half-naked to fully naked plenty of times, which makes it even more exciting to watch since he is the eye candy of the entire show.

tenor

Good news, since the ending of Sons of Anarchy, there has been a spin-off called the Mayans MC, however, I’m not sure if they are working on new episodes or not since the director was fired. Also, the creator wants to create a series that is based on Jax’s sons, which we are currently waiting on when that will begin.

I highly recommend giving this a watch. Currently, the only place, other than buying the entire series, it is streaming on Hulu. Oh, and make sure you don’t want this with the kiddos around because there are a lot of guns, blood, drugs, bad language, and nakedness.

What did you think about Sons of Anarchy? Is it something you haven’t seen and can’t wait to start? Let me know in the comments down below!

Movie Review: Friends With Benefits (2011)

Hey Dearies! So, since we are sort of stuck at home and trying to find something to watch, other than binge-watching the same few TV Shows, this is the time to look back on some of those movies that weren’t really a ‘big’ hit but are super funny to watch.

This month’s it is the Friends With Benefits and boy is it hilarious!

So, the basic plotline of the movie is that two people, who just got out of relationships, don’t want to do the whole ‘relationship’ thing, but instead become ‘friends with benefits’.

Now, if you are living under a rock or don’t quite know the understanding of what a ‘friends with benefits’ is, well, let me explain to you what it is. It is when two friends agree to partake in having sex or any other pleasing activities, but doing this all without the title of ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’.

fwb

Friends with benefits is quite a known thing that people do and it is mostly common with younger people, especially if they aren’t quite ready for a relationship, but still want to have needs met.

Anyway, this movie basically defined what a ‘friends with benefits’ is and the aftermath of having one, which can go one of two ways:

  1. The people that are ‘friends with benefits’ start to fall for each other and end up turning their agreement into a fulltime commitment.
  2. The people start to developed those feelings and end the agreement, usually because they don’t want to ruin the friendship.

I won’t tell you what really happens in the movie, you’ll have to find out for yourself.

Not to mention, you understand their backstories and families, as they further along as people just having casual sex.

Which this movie makes it so hilarious, especially when they are hooking up for the first time, such as naming all the things that they like or don’t like or what will happen.

Overall, it’s just a cheesy, funny, comedy romance that just goes to show that anything can happen when you partake in the ‘friends with benefits’ relationship.

So, if you are looking for a laugh or just something that is plain old silly, this is perfect for you! I’m one of those people that just love the cheesy romance crap, as some people like to call it, but this movie takes it to that level where how a simple friendship can turn into something more than just sex.

What do you think of the movie, Friends With Benefits? Have you seen it or what to see it? Let me know in the comments down below!

Product Review: Puzzle RollUp Mat

Hey Dearies! I am back with another product review! So, if you don’t know, I LOVE to do jigsaw puzzles in my free time and especially during this time, they help not only pass the time but it also keeps your eyes from staring at a smartphone all day either.

Not to mention, my 2-year-old daughter loves to watch and help me with them, so we have a few puzzles that are perfect for her to do. This product is more for those who are like me and LOVE doing the bigger puzzles, such as a 1000 piece puzzle. They are lots of fun but can take a lot of time and patience to complete.

This is when this product comes into need! Especially if you can just leave the puzzle where it is because it’s either in the way, or you have little ones that will try and ‘help’ to get it done.

This roll-up mat can not only keep your unfinished puzzle intact, but you can roll it up an store it for another day or when you are ready to finish it.

I got mine a few years back and have only used it a few times. My big problem with these is if you have a puzzle that you have done multiple times, meaning the pieces are a little wore down, they don’t like to stay on the mat together very well.

Not to mention that the mat is felt, so it’s hard to move pieces. If you were doing a newer puzzle, it wouldn’t be so difficult, but you do have to push some of the pieces back together, when you roll it out, again.

However, I do not recommend leaving the pieces, that aren’t connected, by itself on this mat. I’ve had a few times where they have fallen out and I lost the pieces to those puzzles, which is never fun to go closet search for puzzle pieces when your closet is full of open boxes.

Leaving the extra pieces in the box would be a better idea, or try putting them in a sandwich baggie and attach the baggie to the storage roll or inside of it.

Overall, if you live in a small place or just can’t leave the puzzle out by itself, then this would be ideal for you. I also want to note that there are mats that are bigger or smaller for whatever size puzzle you plan on doing, so be sure to make sure you check out the size of your puzzle before buying one of these roll-up mats.

The ideal is to have a puzzle table, but those can run from $90-$150 bucks, but if you don’t have the room or have kids or pets that like to be ‘helpful’, then these mats are perfect and only run from $15-$30 bucks, depending on the size that you want, I would always go the biggest, if you can, just because you never know when you are in the mood to do a big puzzle.

What do you think about the Puzzle RollUp Mat? Have you used one, or are you thinking about getting one? Let me know in the comments down below!

T.V. Show Review: Reba (2001-2007)

Growing up, Reba was one of those shows that were a classic funny show that could always keep your spirits up! When I was younger, I would be helping my mom fold clothes as we sat and watched Reba.

Reba was an amazing sitcom for sure! It was funny and talked about a lot of serious stuff that some T.V. shows, at the time, wouldn’t really bring it up. Some of the examples are divorce, affair, teen pregnancy & marriage, alcohol addiction, and so much more.

When it came to topics like that, they always had a serious moment about it, talking about the effects or aftermath of that, then they would start making jokes about it, but not in the way you are thinking.

06c16294627ed960b927862decb59299

If you haven’t seen Reba or don’t know what it is, let me give you a little preview on what it is about. Reba and her husband Brock are getting a divorce because he had an affair with his receptionist, Barbra-Jean (we will get into her later). While that is all going on, she finds out that her oldest daughter, Cheyenne, who gets pregnant in her last year of high school, by her boyfriend, Van. Not to mention, she also has two other children to take care of, Kyra and Jake.

At the beginning of the season, Reba has a lot on her plate, dealing with a divorce and her daughter getting pregnant at such as young age. Let me tell you, she takes this all on like a boss, no really.

What makes the icing on the cake is that the person who her ex-husband had an affair with, Barbra-Jean, try so hard to be friends with Reba, little does Reba know that she ends up liking the crazy homewrecker anyway.

Overall, this show is something I could watch over and over. That and there’s nothing better than watching Reba handle Barbra-Jean.

So, if you are looking for something to watch, during these times, I suggest to check out Reba, it’s on Hulu, and binge-watching the seasons!

Sadly, this show was canceled and ended, which was really sad because I was really looking forward to seeing Van and Cheyenne’s second child being born and knowing if Brock and Barbra-Jean stayed together, and also if Reba would every find someone for herself.

I guess we are left with a mystery, but it would be awesome if they are thinking about a reunion reboot series, I would LOVE that!

So, what do you think about Reba? Was it something that you grew up watching, just like myself? Let me know in the comments down below!

Movie Review: Look Who’s Talking Too (1990)

Hey Dearies! Yes, this month we are doing the sequel to Look Who’s Talking! I figured I would keep them in order, however, I might not do the 3 installments of the saga, just because I might want to save it for December, who knows!

Anyway, so if you haven’t seen my review for the first movie, here is the link: https://katiesblog96971617.com/2020/02/09/movie-review-look-whos-talking-1989/

The sequel is about James and Molly, they have gotten married and are expecting a baby girl! Not to mention, this is when Mikey is a toddler and they are trying to train him to go potty, but get him excited to have the new title of ‘big brother’.

Which, let’s face it, it was so adorable how Mikey gets excited and ready to take care of his big sister.

One of the reasons why I like the second one, a little be more than the first, is because it highlights a problem that all relationships come across when they are first married. Communication.

1118461031

The reason why I like the fact that they talk about a subject, such as a big one like this, is because you don’t see a lot of movies that show a married or relationship that has trouble maintaining that relationship, especially with kids involved.

To spoil it for you, but don’t worry, the ending is a very happy outcome, Molly and James separate after their daughter is born. With the relationship under a lot of stress, with money problems, Molly’s brother and best friend living with them all, it can overwhelm a couple for sure.

Not to mention the way Molly realizes that she misses James and how much she wants to make it all work out because she loves him.

Let’s get back to the babies! So, Mikey is a little older than we last saw him in the first one, he was about 1, but now I would stay he’s around 3ish since they are focusing him on being a ‘big boy’ and training him to use the potty.

Look_Whos_Talking_Too_37617_Medium.jpg

As I said before, Mikey gets very excited for his new sister, Juile, but once he sees that his parents are focused on her more than him, he gets jealous, which happens to all siblings at one point.

Overall, this movie talks about a lot, but in a very funny way. My favorite part of the movie is when Mikey has a nightmare about the toilet coming to life saying that it’s gonna eat his ‘doo-doo’ and his ‘pee-pee’.

So, what was your favorite part of Look Who’s Talking Too? Or is it something you haven’t seen yet? Let me know in the comments down below!

Product Review: Make-up Brush Cleaner

Hey Dearies! So, this month’s product review is actually gonna be for make-up. Now don’t worry, I’m not reviewing any make-up palettes or lipsticks, we are going to be focusing on a product that is supposed to make it easier to clean your brushes.

So, where did I see this product?

As you know, if you have been following me on Instagram, you have probably noticed I’ve been wearing make-up more or testing products out, lately. So, I’ve been using my brushes quite a bit, to the point where I didn’t even know that you had to clean them on daily.

Which, I was told, that you don’t have to clean them every day, but at least once a week, if not more, depending on how often you use them. Which is also what lead me to purchase this make-up brush cleaner.

Now, since I didn’t have any knowledge of how to clean make-up brushes, I figured I would look on Amazon for an easier way to do so. Originally, I wanted to get this product as a gift, for a few people, but me being curious, I wanted to know if it really worked.

All you do is load up your brush, you can choose any of the different options for each different type of brush. Then a drop of dish soap, or make-up brush cleaning solution, to the mixing bowl and slowly dip the brush in and out of the solution, while it’s spinning. Then let it dry spin for a few and it should be dry or barely wet.

download

The max it should take, for each brush, is about 10 to 30 seconds. Which to a lot of make-up people is AMAZING timing! I like the fact that it’s that quick that it dries.

  • How’s the quality?

Because I’m not a great make-up artist and almost have no idea what I’m doing, the quality of how clean these brushes get is not bad, but it’s not great either. Setting it up is a pain in the butt, but I feel that it doesn’t clean enough.

  • Does it work for me?

In all honestly, yes, this product does work, but for someone who isn’t a HUGE make-up guru’s. I recommend getting this for someone who is or does use their make-up brushes all the time. Although it doesn’t clean the brushes well, it does make it quicker for them to get dry quickly.

  • Is it worth the money?

At the time, I paid about $17.00, for it on Amazon. I’ve seen them range from $9.99 – $25.00, if not more depending on the brand. It is worth the money, but if you don’t use it all the time, this product is more of a waste of space.

  • Overall, is it something I would use or buy again?

I wouldn’t buy this again since I already own it, but I do see myself using this again, just because it drys the brushes so quickly! I do however, see this as a great gift to those who are make-up lovers.

What do you think about this product? Is it something that you would use or have used? Let me know what you think about it in the comments!

Random Review: Crochet/Knit Electronic Finger Counter

Hey Dearies! So, this month, we had an extra Saturday and instead of doing nothing on that Saturday, I figured I would do something a little bit different. The random reviews are a review that are based off of anything, could be from arts and crafts supplies to kitchen or office stuff.

This week, I wanted to talk about these super cool finger counters and if they are really worth it or if they are helpful.

So, when I first got into crocheting, I was counting rows on paper and pen, which does make it easier to follow rows because I write out the rows on paper and cross them out when I’ve completed that row.

Plus if I have to go back or figure out exactly what row I’m on, I can look down onto that sheet of paper and find out where exactly I left off. However, there are a lot of downfalls to using pen and paper, especially if you have younger kids that LOVE to get into anything.

Which is when I next looked into other ways to count my rows, without dragging the paper and pen around. I wanted something that was portable and easier to keep tract of counting, which is when I found the electric row counters for your fingers.

First, let me start off by saying that I got really excited to use these, which I ended up getting myself a pack of 2, just in case, which there is really no harm in doing so.

I honestly loved them!

However, as much as I loved them, I did have a few minor complaints.

Having this on your finger, to me, was a pain in the butt. Then again I have really long and thick fingers, which doesn’t help the fact that the adjustable band doesn’t fit ‘perfect’ on my finger.

To me, it’s a little too loose for my liking. Other than that, it worked great!

One of the best features of these little counters is that after a few minutes of not counting your rows, it would shut off, but keep track of what row you were on when you turned it back on.

Another great feature it has is that it’s not just in one boring color, but can come in many different colors, currently, I have a green and pink ones since those are my two favorite colors!

Not to mention, it does a better counting, I feel than any other app that is out there. (Which I will review that in the future.)

What do you think about this little gadget? Do you have one or wasn’t sure about getting one? Leave a comment down below and let me know what you think about them!

Book Review: Game Of Thrones (Book 1)

Hey Dearies! So, as I’ve been getting back into reading, I started to read the infamous GOT books, I got them after the show had already aired, but that’s what usually happens when a book gets turned into a series or movie, either you read it before it turned into a live-action or you find out after the fact.

To me, the only series that I have read before they wanted to release a T.V. series or live-action was the House of Night Series, but those books will be for another time and its a rumor that I’m not 100% sure if they are doing or not.

Anyway, back to GOT. If you haven’t already seen this series, it’s about castles, dragons, kingdoms, but more suited for adults. The first book follows really closely with the first season, as I was reading this, I was also watching an episode that followed what I had read.

WARNING: Spoilers to come! Don’t read forward if you don’t want me to spoil it for you!

The first thing I want to say is that, if you are a fan of the series, they did a really good job of following the book, but to me, the book was really hard to get into because I’m not really used to reading books like this, meaning it does have a lot of big words and it took me a little bit longer to get into, but once Ned becomes the hand, it’s a lot easier.

The way the book is set up is that every chapter is a different person’s point-of-view. The best part is that chapters aren’t in a cycle, they are very random, first, you’ll be reading about Ned, then you’ll jump to Jon or Dany.

About halfway through the book, King Robert, who goes out hunting and ends up getting hurt badly, he dies in the first season and in the book. I was getting a little bit worry that he still wasn’t dead, but you have to remember, the book always has more detail than the T.V. Show.

I do want to say, after watching the series before reading the book and then watching the episodes that occur from what I read in the book, it really helped me to understand who the characters were and what the story is about.

Now that I’m rewatching the series as I read them, it does help me when I’m going through and reading each of the books. Which if you didn’t know, there are 5 books in the Game Of Thrones series.

So, for once, one of the books is spot on to the, I would say the first season of GOT. What did you think about the book? Have you read it or were you like me and found out after the fact? Let me know below!

Also, I want to note that these books take a lot of time to finish, so please be patient for me to get through the second book!

T.V. Show Review: The Office (2005-2013)

If you are a super big Office fan, just like me, then you have probably seen the series more than once. And if you haven’t, you have until next year to binge-watch it on Netflix before 2021 because the rumor is, they are getting rid of it.

This drives me nuts because of the fact that they have already gotten rid of Friends and now, The Office.

Anyway, let’s talk about how amazing this T.V. show really is.

Now, if you are one of those people that have tried to watch the Office and couldn’t get into it, then you should try watching more than just an episode. Or clips on YouTube can really get you into watching it.

What really made the show amazing was Michael Scott, but sadly, Steve Carrell, the actor plays that character, left the show at the end of season 7. Which did make it harder to keep watching the Office when Michael left, but the other main characters were still there.

enhanced-13749-1462367936-1.jpg

One of my favorite things about the Office is the pranks Jim plays on Dwight, they are not only priceless to watch by if you aren’t feeling the best mood, but they are also sure to make you crack a smile.

f0f08796ef4d492f33deec77c0a01d28.jpg

I love the way how Dwight reacts so well to the jokes that you can’t help, but laugh at it. One of the best pranks that is my favorite is when they prank call Dwight, making him think that he’s on a radio show. Here is the clip, if you are curious to know what happens next.

Anyway, the storyline is basically a documentary on a group of people that work for a paper company and they are documenting every part of it. In the last season, the documentary is aired and the entire cast gets to ‘relive’ what they have already recorded.

images.jpg

Like Jim and Pam get to rewatch how they went from being the best of friends to falling in love, getting married and having their children.

Not to mention, most of the cast that is ‘documented’ is the actual people who wrote episodes of the Office, which they weren’t originally supposed to be in the show, but ended up getting written in.

This T.V. show is just like Friends, very funny and the cast is very loveable. It can take a few episodes to get into it, but once you do, it is so funny!

What do you think about The Office? Is it on your favorites, when it comes to T.V. Shows to binge-watch or was it one of those shows you weren’t able to get into? Let me know done below!

Movie Review: Look Who’s Talking (1989)

If you aren’t an 80’s fan and haven’t seen this movie, then you are totally missing out! This is one of my all-time favorites when it has to do with babies. If you haven’t seen this movie, do be prepared for some spoilers, but just because I spoiled the movie for you, doesn’t mean you need to not see it!

Here is the trailer:

This movie is about a woman, named Mollie, who becomes pregnant with her ‘boyfriend’, Albert, who is also a married man. She ends up having a son, named Mikey and hires a male babysitter, who is the taxi driver who drives and was there when her son was born.

The movie shows two sides, Mollie, who struggles to be a single mom when her ‘boyfriend’ leaves her to be on her own and the point of view of Mikey. Which was something that made the movie great! Seeing what a baby might be thinking about when they grow and when they become apart of the real world.

Not to mention, the movie shines a light on how hard it really is to be a single mother, especially when the father isn’t in the picture. It paints more than just a picture of a single mother, but also someone, who isn’t the father, can step up and take over the role without even making an effort to do so.

download.jpg

Because this was released in the ’80s, it gave women hope that they don’t need to have a man in their life to raise their child and that they don’t need to go looking for a man because, in time, the right one could be somewhere where you least expected.

The movie also shows milestones that every parent gets to see as their children grow, although the milestones are only from birth till about almost 2 years old, it’s amazing to see how quickly milestones can be. In a movie, it can go from a few seconds, as they grow, but in real life, it goes much quicker.

images

I also find the relationship that forms between Mikey and James. Even though he isn’t Mikey’s biological child, they have a bond that every father wishes they could have with their children.

In the end, the movie makes a good point to that even if you lost love, another will come around and accept you and your children.

Overall, I love this movie! It is perfect for whatever mood you are in, not to mention, very funny and points out a lot of stuff about having a baby that most of everyone has forgotten about.

Not to mention, there are two more movies that do follow with this.

What do you think about Look Who’s Talking? Is it a movie you have already seen or not? If you have seen it, have you seen the other two movies that go with it? Let me know in the comments down below!

Product Review: Color Street Nails

Hey Dearies! So, our first product review of the year will be from Color Street. Now, if you haven’t heard about this product before, they are an ‘MLM’ business that sells an easier way to applying nail polish in less time than it takes you to actually take the time to get your nails painted.

This company also offers the same opportunity to those who would like to be apart of this brand and sell it themselves, kinda like Avon or Paparazzi.

Now, this product, not only does it make it easier to apply nail polish, but there are tons of different designs and colors to try from.

If you are a mom like me, it can be difficult to actually take the time to paint your nails, not to mention having enough time to let them dry as well. So an easier way to not only apply nail polish but also not having to deal with having to air out your room or house because of the smell sounds like a plus to me!

Here’s what they look like:

Color-Street-Nail-Polish-Strips-New-and-Halloween
By the way, if this hasn’t already caught your eye, noticed how photoshopped the nail polish are to the fingers? Not kidding, this is how they show you what it looks like on their website!

I know what you are thinking, ‘Sounds good, but are they really worth it?’.

Well, let’s talk about it some more. So, when I am doing these types of reviews, I like to ask myself a few questions about the product before coming to a final conclusion. Because this is part of an MLM, I’ll be asking myself some other questions, such as these:

  • How’s the quality?
  • How long does it last?
  • Does it work for me?
  • Is it worth the money?
  • Would it be worth signing up?
  • Overall, is it something I would use or buy again?

-How’s the quality?

I would say the quality looks pretty good in person versus online or in pictures. If this product isn’t shown on actual fingers and not ‘photoshopped’ on the same hands over and over, I think it would catch the eyes of customers better.

As you see in the photo above, if I didn’t mention the photo was clearly photoshopped, were you able to notice?

maxresdefault.jpg

-How long does it last?

These last about a week, depending on how active you are with your hands, it can last longer, but the real problem is that you can’t keep them on for long periods of time. My mom kept her Christmas ones on for little over 3 weeks and they turned her nails yellow.

Not to mention that once they start chipping off, they become pretty easy to peel off and once you start, you’ll keep going until they are completely off.

download.jpg

-Does it work for me?

Yes, it does. Even though the process can be a pain in the ass, they are definitely worth trying at least once. I hate to paint my nails and especially during the wintertime when you can’t or don’t want to open a window to air out the fumes of actual nail polish, they are very easy to put on either during the kiddos nap time or after they go to bed.

-Is it worth the money?

As of February 2020, they are priced at $13.00. You 2 full sets of nail strips to do both of your hands twice. They also have them in different sizes, so they should fit for all sizes if not, they can stretch a little bit to make them fit.

In one of the full strips, they only recommend you to use one of the full strips for each hand, but if your nails aren’t as long, you can definitely get to wear these or try them out 2 times and see if you like them or not to purchase again or give to a friend to have them try it out.

images.jpg

Another downfall with these as well is that once they are opened from that plastic seal they tend to get hard if they are left out for too long. I recommend putting your extra strips in a plastic baggie and making sure there isn’t any air for them to get dried up.

Overall, if you want a quicker way to do your nails, they are worth it, but because they have so many options, it’s hard to want to try out only a few.

-Would it be worth signing up?

The big question that everyone asks or should ask before joining an MLM company, is it truly worth it? Remember, if you aren’t passionate about the product or products you are selling, DON’T waste your money over it!

As always, before joining one of these groups, you have to have the extra money to purchase a ‘kit’ that is needed in order to start selling.

In my honest opinion, as much as I love doing my nails, I wouldn’t sign up. To me, I wouldn’t want to spend $125 dollars on a kit when I can use that money towards something else. Even though its a one time purchase, even after that, you still got to buy more products and get more people to join in order to make money.

86a64b4f9f14500a91bb676628dda7ff.png

This is something that you would have to look into and DO RESEARCH on BEFORE joining. Also, talking to current members and ex-members is very helpful, they can tell you if it’s worth it or not.

-Overall, is it something I would use or buy again?

Sure, it’s an easier way to put nail polish on, but I don’t think this would be something I would buy all the time. I do love the options they have on different colors, designs and glitters to choose from, but with it being $13 dollars for about 2 tries, it might be cheaper for me to get my favorite plastic stick-on nails that it would be to buy these.

I think these are perfect for holiday gifts and even if you want to have salon nails for the holidays. It’s hard to not want to try them all, but the fact that they have to photoshop their nail design, instead of placing them on actual nails, really bothers me.

What do you think about Color Street Nails? Have you tried them or have seen your friends selling them? What do you think about them? Let me know in the comments below!

T.V. Show Review: Friends (1994-2004)

‘I’ll be there for you’

As soon as you hear those words, immediately think of Friends. Yes! We are talking about one of the most greatest T.V. series in the world and one of my all-time favorites to sit down and enjoy.

1f96162cead774c3d3a8c5056b2c9b20.jpg

If you haven’t seen nor heard of Friends, then you must be living under a rock like Patrick Star! It’s a show about 6 friends, Monica, Rachel, Pheobe, Ross, Joey, and Chandler, as you get to watch them live their lives, work, and wish that you could have a group of friends just like them.

il_570xN.1851047533_22he.jpg

It doesn’t matter what type of mood I’m in, Friends always makes me feel better. It’s one of those shows that I’ve seen multiple times, and I don’t have any shame either, that can literally put your mood from shitty to happy, after watching a few episodes.

The show is an all-time favorite but was sadly removed from Netflix, due to every other cable station becoming just like Netflix. So, I haven’t been able to watch Friends whenever I wanted since that happened at the beginning of 2020.

The show also talks about some big stuff or life problems that we can or do encounter as an adult, such as pregnancy, marriage, break-ups, divorce, changing jobs, family problems, or that famous line of Ross’s WE WERE ON A BREAK!

download.jpg

Which if you didn’t know, about Ross’s line of ‘We were on a break’, the show Friends made it clear on how if you were to take a break in a relationship, there are two ways your partner will see it as Ross’s side or Rachel’s side.

o-friends-the-definitive-break-up-scene-was-so-emotional-that-8554245.png

After that episode, more people had to enclose what an actual relationship break is. Not to mention, as much as we LOVED Ross and Rachel being together, their relationship was quite toxic than we wanted to believe.

images.jpg
I actually have this mug!

The best part about this show is that each person from the Friends group is quite different from each other:

  • Joey –  He was an actor, that wasn’t very smart when it comes to common sense, but was a lovable lady’s man that could get any woman he wanted by saying, ‘Hey, how you doin?’
  • Rachel – She was the snob of the group, born into a rich lifestyle, but was friends with Monica since high school. She also loves fashion, but don’t let her make a trifle.
  • Ross – Loves dinosaurs and getting married/divorced. He is definitely a nerd at heart and anything to do with science.
  • Monica – Is a fat kid at heart, loves to cook and make sure everything is neat and clean. She’s also pretty organized, so do not move her furniture an inch.
  • Chandler – The joker of the group and very sarcastic, no one really knows what his job entails, but it has to do with being a transponder, as Rachel calls it.
  • Pheobe – She’s the weird one from the group, but we all love her the same. She’s very musically and everyone knows her favorite song ‘Smelly Cat’.

As much as they are different from each other, they always have one other character that makes sure she is in every season of Friends, and one way you will know about who she is, by her laugh.

download

But their favorite place is hanging out in Central Perk, their favorite coffee shop that you’ll always see them in if they aren’t at Monica’s or Joey’s/Chandler’s apartment when they are all together, you can see the love that they all have for each other.

download.jpg

This show is something that is for everyone, whether you want to laugh, smile, or cry, they will always be there for you.

What do you think about Friends? Is it on your playlist of favorites? Let me know in the comments down below!

Katie’s Blog Schedule for 2020

Hey Dearies! I know I’ve been a little late with the beginning of this year, but I wanted to give you another post for what to expect on my blog for 2020!

I know I haven’t been as active as I would like to be, but I’ve planned out a yearly schedule that should change that for this year. If you don’t already know, I’m currently enrolled in college and with that going on and being home with a 2 year, things can get crazy, but I’m going to try my best to stay on task as much as I can!

Make sure you are following me on my Facebook page, I’ll have more of my updates posted on there!

Alright, let’s get this started!

  • Monday’s – Unforgotten
    • I’m going to finish Unforgotten and then hopefully, I will have another story up, but it all depends of what I’ve got in my drive for books that I’ve either started or finished.
  • Tuesday’s -Crafty Sassy
    • This one isn’t going anywhere, but I’m going to mix it up with new patterns and new Top 10’s.
    • My Top 10’s will consist of free patterns that I go looking around on Pinterest.
    • I will also be doing a different crochet square a month, for those looking to start crocheting.
    • This year, I’m trying to get into knitting. I’ve been looking into it for a while, but I might be posting on it, depending on how zoned in I get into it.
  • Thursday’s – Gaming
    • This one isn’t set in stone, but I do want to get back into gaming. It helps me take a breather when I have a lot going on.
    • This mostly will be for Sims, Minecraft, and maybe a few others. I might do a gaming review on some other PC classic’s, such as Diner Dash or Fate. I’ll keep you all posted on that as well!
  • Friday’s – Short Stories
    • This is definitely happening for sure! Last year, I had the temperature blanket to do and I didn’t have enough time to get them out when I wanted to, so make sure to keep a close eye on Friday’s!
    • I’ll be using a website, that generates character names, genres, conflicts, etc, at random and turning them into a story! I also have a few prompts from my own as well that I would love to make into a short story.
    • So, if you miss my writings, this will be a guaranteed thing I will post on Friday!
  • Saturday’s – Reviews
    • I have mentioned that I’ve wanted to do reviews for a while, but haven’t had the time. Well, I’m gonna start too! Every Saturday will have a different review, such as Products, Movies, TV Shows, books, etc.
      • Products
        • This review is for anything that has peeked your interest, such as makeup, kitchenware, baby stuff, toys, or anything that you have thought of buying, but want to know if it’s worth it.
      • Movies
        • I love watching movies, especially with my daughter! So, don’t be surprised if you see a few Disney films and such.
        • The only ones you might not see on here will be anything scary. I don’t do horror, nor do I watch it. (Sorry to the horror fans out there!)
        • There will be a mix of Action, Romance, Comedy(Includes some stand-up), Chick Flix, Adventure, and a mix of kid shows as well.
      • TV Shows
        • Now, this one will have a mix of kids shows as well, since a lot of parents or new parents want to know what’s a good list of shows for their kids to watch. Or for yourself, after the kids have gone to bed.
        • Again, I don’t like anything horror-ish stuff, but don’t be shocked if you see The Walking Dead on here, as well.
        • I’m going to try and pick shows that are completely over, but if they are still running, I’ll comment whether I’m still watching it or not.
      • Books
        • My library is getting bigger by the moment and is the perfect time to get into writing reviews!
        • I know I only did one last year, yes only ONE, but I’m planning on changing that. I want to take more time to read and actually FINISH books that I’ve started.
        • There will be all kinds of genres, I’m willing to dip into more Stephen King type novels as well.
        • I will include a few audiobooks, but I live to read the physical book in person and without staring at a screen to read.
      • Random
        • This can be ANYTHING, and when I mean anything, it could be over game systems, apps, crochet stuff, knitting stuff, shoes, clothes, brands, basically anything that doesn’t fit in the categories above.
        • If you would like to request anything, I will have a post on my Facebook Page, asking at the beginning of the month on what you would like me to review.
        • This isn’t going to be an EVERY month review, but I will keep a list of the most popular and go from there!

Now, let’s talk about some other topics that I haven’t mentioned.

Mom Talk

This is still not going anywhere, I’ll be posting these randomly, since I’m currently raising a toddler, at the moment, so there will be a few posts about this stage and such. So, make sure to look out for potty training, how I deal with toddler fits, and so much more.

WWE

Sadly, I will be deleting all WWE stuff, since I have stopped watching it. It isn’t something I get as pumped up for anymore, sorry to all the fans that followed me for that. I’ll be removing all posts about it, to make room for newer ones.

Podcast

I’ll be getting rid of my podcasts as well, if you want to listen to them, they will be on my Youtube channel. I lost all motivation to start it back up again since most podcasters have one or more guest on their podcast.

My Youtube Channel

I’ll be working harder to post more stuff, such as gaming, crochet, knitting, etc. Anything of the sort, I will have a day of when I will be posting stuff.

Katie’s Craft Studio’s

People have been asking about this, my mini business, and what’s happening to it. I figured I would answer it on this post as well!

I’m still accepting orders, however, I’ll be posting dates of when I’ll be accepting them, I don’t want to get too overwhelmed. So, when I have classes, I won’t be accepting orders, which will be from January 21 – May 11, of this year.

So, from that timeline, I will not be accepting any orders. I will also make a note of that on my Facebook Page as well.

Again, I would like to thank all of my followers and supports, I couldn’t be doing this without you all! Let’s make 2020 the best year ever!

T.V. Show Review: Once Upon A Time (2011-2018)

Hey Dearies! So, since I’ve started to do reviews on books, I wanted to start on T.V. shows as well. One of my favorites was Once Upon A Time, I watched it from the beginning and was immediately drawn into it.

However, to a lot of people, Once Upon A Time was very confusing and difficult to follow along, but after watching the entire series a few times, it was easier to follow along to the storyline.

For those of you who don’t know what the plot is, of course, it has something to do with fairytales and happily ever afters. Basically, Snow White and Prince Charming are getting married when the Evil Queen interrupts and tells them that she is going to cast a curse to get her happily ever after.

api.venuelust
Fun Fact: The actors who played Snow and Charming fell in love during the making of Once Upon A Time. They are married and the writers wrote Snow to be pregnant when the actor who played her was pregnant.

The curse is basically everyone being transferred into this new world that, or the real world, where they have forgotten who their former lives are and are living entirely different lives. However, the only way the curse can be broken is by Emma, Prince Charming and Snow White’s child that was born before the curse hit and was sent into a magical tree to make sure that she was saved in order to break the curse.

Emma-and-Regina-once-upon-a-time-39645545-540-810.jpg
Emma and the Evil Queen.

Long story short, Emma is visited by her son, who she gave up for adoption when he was first born, and try to get Emma to break the curse by getting her to believe that everyone is part of a fairy tale.

If you want to see what the trailer for Once Upon A Time, check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rga4rp4j5TY

Now, before I get more into the review, I want to make sure that there might be some spoilers to watch out for!

It’s a lot to get into, but the storyline catches on very quickly, however, they tend to write side characters out or kill them off before they get a good introduction. Not to mention, they go back and forth to the past and present quite a bit, which can confuse you.

For the first few seasons, they did pretty well, but some of the characters I wish had more on-screen time, such as Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jasmine, and Mulan.

download.jpg
Merida and Mulan.

The cast was perfect, especially for the Evil Queen, Rumpelstiltskin, Captain Hook, Snow White, and Prince Charming.

The only thing I didn’t like about the series is the last season. From season 1 to 6, you had the main cast members: Emma, Henry, Snow, Charming, Regina (Evil Queen), Mr. Gold ( Rumpelstiltskin, and Captian Hook.

0d9a7a4adb6285e18a2eaf5813363d83.jpg
Ain’t this pirate dreamy?!

Even though the last season did have Regina, Mr. Gold, and Captain Hook, it also made Henry grow up into an adult. It felt like something was missing, but the other castmates were ready to end the series, but they wanted one more season just so it was ended the right way.

1428989375_robert-carlyle-rumplestiltskin-once-upon-time.jpg
Fun Fact: Have you ever played Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? The actor, Robert Carlyle actually voices Dracula.

It felt quite rushed, but one thing that bugged me is that they basically repeated what happened in season 1, having now Henry’s daughter come up to his room to get him to break the curse. Not to mention, Henry’s love interest was Cinderalla, but hardcore Once Upon A Time fans, we already met Cinderella back in season 1.

rs_1024x759-171005100712-1024-ouat-cinderella.jpg
The Cinderella in the left is from Season 1 and the one of the right is from Season 7.

Although, I did like the fact that Regina finally gets her happy ending and becomes the Queen to all realms, since the writers did put her through hell and back, literally.

Overall, I think it was a really great show, other than a few minor flaws, it turned out quite wonderful. I’ve always loved fairytales and I always love to see how different people interpret them, such as Bella and Rumple being ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

If you are interested and want to check it out, Once Upon A Time is still on Netflix, not sure for how much longer, but all seasons are available!

Mom Talk: Treat-or-Tricking – Past v.s. Present

When you are a kid, Halloween and Christmas are the two big holidays that you get jumped up excited for. Christmas, for well, Santa bringing you lots of presents for being good all year long and Halloween, going from door to door getting candy.

ewscripps.brightspotcdn

I’ve noticed a HUGE change from when I used to go trick-or-treating, to how kids go trick-or-treating now.

Past

From when I went trick-or-treating, we used to hit up any house that was giving out candy. We knew what neighborhoods would get all decorated for Halloween and which ones gave us the most candy, as well.

download.jpg

For me, we usually went to the people we knew first, such as my parent’s friends, co-workers, or other family members, before we would go to my grandparent’s house, we always saved them for last.

Once we hit those houses, there were a few neighborhoods that would get altogether and do a GIANT Halloween display, and you never wanted to miss out on it because they did something different every year, or just added more scary stuff to their already huge display of ghosts, zombies, witches, and of course skeleton’s.

As a child, I always loved to see what people have new or how big they made their house looked. That was always my favorite part of going trick-or-treating, other than dressing up and getting lots of candy.

images.jpg

Then we would end our night at seeing our grandparents, which they usually give us bigger bags of candy. By the end of the night, we would get home around 9:30ish, depending on how late we stayed out. If it was raining, we would only hit up close friends and family before heading home.

When it came to candy, my parents made sure that we all shared it after they inspected it, they would throw all of our candy in an empty giant cheese ball container and put it up on top of the fridge. We were only allowed to have a piece or two after we ate all our supper, but as sneaky as us kids were, we always snuck a piece or two when our parents were asleep. But, what kid didn’t?

Every year, we would get so pumped up for that one day a year, just to dress up and got out and get candy, lucky we never got any rocks, like Charlie Brown did.

That was how my past Halloweens were, as a kid, but let’s talk about how the present is.

Present

pi002080_wide.jpg

Things have changed a lot since I became an adult. The hype waiting for that one day a year to dress up doesn’t happen as much for kids, nowadays. There are new ways that kids can dress up and get more candy, but during the day.

Don’t get me wrong, but kids still go trick-or-treating. Not as much as they used to do. That I have noticed that has changed about Halloween.

There are these ‘Truck-or-Treats’, that they hold for children during the day. These were created more for the little ones that may not be awake long enough for Halloween night, which is a great idea, but for the older kids, they don’t get as excited as I did, waiting for Halloween night.

download.jpg

Since a lot has changed, fewer people don’t want to do the ‘Halloween Thing’ because others, who are handing out candy and have never put items in there or added drugs, ruin it for those who love seeing the kids dressed up in costumes and do it for fun.

Now, the ‘Truck-or-Treats’, I personally won’t bring my children to any of those events because it loses the value or excitement that waiting one day a year for the actual Halloween night.

You may not agree with me, but everyone has a different view on what they choose to do. I’m not saying that we should end the ‘Truck-or-Treats’, but instead of having them every week until Halloween, have it the weekend before Halloween, not every week of Halloween.

Another thing, that I would like to address, just because it’s raining on Halloween night, don’t go trick-or-treating, I remember going trick-or-treating in the SNOW, yes, you heard right, there was a year where it SNOWED during Halloween.

download.jpg

Anyway, how was your Halloweens as a kid? Leave a comment down below and let me know!

Happy Halloween and make sure your kiddos are safe this year for trick-or-treating!

Book Review: A Sucky Love Story (Brittani Louise Taylor)

I am a big Youtube fan, I’ve been watching Youtube since I was 13. Always wanting to start a channel of my own and really be myself. There were two big names that I used to watch on the daily: Shane Dawson and Brittani Louise Taylor.

Related image

Ever since then, I’ve followed them both on social media, but we are going to talk about Brittani, first. The first video I watched of hers, was the mini two-part episode she did with Shane, ‘Emo Breakup.’

Here is the link, if you would like to see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st8-oYpI_FE

Brittani was one of those people who loved to show herself being herself, which is one of the reasons why I loved watching her videos. She gave me the inspiration to keep being myself. However, little did any of us followers knew, she had been going through something even more frightening. An abusive relationship.

Since she was going through a trial, she wasn’t allowed to say anything about what was going on in her situation, so her lawyer told her to write a book instead, which she did. Out came ‘A Sucky Love Story’.

I’m not going to go completely into details, but as a person who has been watching Youtube for a while, you never would’ve thought anything wrong would be happening in their lives.

Brittani was on Tinder, trying to find her ‘soul mate’, as she says in her book. She had a few failed attempts at Tinder, but was still hopeful, until she found Milos. At first, she didn’t like him, but over time, he changed everything about him to what Brittani was attractive too.

In the end, Brittani had gone through hell and back, figuring out that everything that he told her, was turning into a lie. At one point, multiple detectives and law enforcement officials said that the way Milos actions of him and his so-called ‘mother’, made them think to believe that they were going to try to human traffic her and their son.

Related image

Brittani wanted to tell her story so that anyone who does start or is currently trying out online dating, just to make sure you know the signs and that you are careful who you meet. She wanted to make sure that no one goes through the same thing she had to endure.

My Opinion of the Book:

I couldn’t put it down, I had to keep on reading, so that I could find out the real truth and what really happened to her. She does an amazing job and had notes from when everything happened. I ended up getting teary towards the end of the book, but it was amazingly written.

I would 100% recommend it, but I highly recommend it to those that are thinking or already started online dating. It’s good to keep in mind what can happen to you when you meet someone online and how cautious you need to be when it comes to that.

At the end of Brittani’s relationship with Milos, the best thing that came out it all was her son Rex, who is now happy with his mother and grandmother. Brittani is still doing Youtube videos, whenever she has a chance, but because of her relationship, she has to alter her and her son’s life.

If you are one of those people who says, “If he is abusing you, just leave,” it’s a lot hard said than done because that person can manipulate you to change your mind and try to work out things together.

New Schedule For Katie’s Blog!

Hello dearies! As we are reaching to the end of the year, I just wanted to give you guys some heads up on the new schedule for my blog. I know that you guys want content, which I am working on for the upcoming year!

For the past week, I have been working on a way on how I can make myself become more active on my blog. Figuring out what I love to do and what I really didn’t care or have enough excitement to do. Meaning, I don’t want to write or blog about stuff that I don’t have enough of an excitement to do.

So, let’s begin!

-Art & Crafts and/or Crafty Sassy

So, this topic, is not going anywhere. I love to try and make new things and this challenges me, which I love to do! Crocheting, of course, will be my top project and I will keep posting on Tuesdays, like I have done normally on Tuesdays. HOWEVER, I have stuff planned out in advanced, so that I don’t run out of ideas on what to do next.

That being said, here is what is going to be ‘new’ for Crafty Sassy:

  • Temperature Blanket
    • This is something I have found and I am very excited to try it out. Basically, you are crocheting a granny square a day of what the temperature was that day.
    • I plan on giving you guys updates once a month, so that you can see my progress.
  • Project of the Month
    • This is something I want to try out. Every month, I will make a project of the month, which the design is going to represent each month.
    • These’s will be done for the first week of each month with a different project for each month.
  • Bookmark of the Month and/or Coaster of the Month
    • I’m still debating on whether to do this or not, but for bookmarks, there are a lot of ideas I would love to try, same goes with coasters.
    • Either way, these’s projects would be done for the last week of the month.

The rest of the weeks, I will ask you guys on my Facebook Page on which I should do and go live showing you OR have a pre-made video on ‘how-to’ make that particular design. This also gives you guys a chance to let me know what project or design I should do next.

-Gaming

This was another topic that I barely posted about, but I am going to try my best to make a change to post more. First off, I would like to start going live or stream live, but I still have to look into it and make sure I know what I am doing before I jump on it.

For the time being, gaming stuff might be tips or updates on my Sims Series or reviews in general. Like I said, this one might take a little longer to get started, but I plan on post/streaming Sunday’s. Make sure you like my Facebook Page, that would be the best place for me to give you guys updates on this.

-Mom Talk

This one has been off and on, but I will try my best to add more. It is very difficult because when I first started, I had so much to talk about, but now, I find that it might be harder for me to post about ‘Mom Talk’ stuff.

Is it something that is ending? No! I will try to post one of these at least once a month, but don’t quote me on it. When I first started out doing it, it was a way to let me release my fears or answer someone’s questions about parenting, but in my sense of style.

-My Books

If you haven’t noticed, I have been working on some changes to my blogging website. If you are looking for my books, they are in that tab, but let’s talk about what’s going on with that.

Now, I am currently in the middle of a book, which is on Wattpad. I’m trying to get as much as I can done before starting the new year, and no, I’m not rushing it. I have a lot of ideas for it and just never had the time until now.

If you are wondering why I’m not posting very much, that is why. I’m making sure that this next book will last, at least, a half of the year to a year. What I mean by that, I need to have enough chapters to post on Mondays and Fridays, but because I am trying to become a better creative writer, my book chapters will be posted on Mondays only.

The reason why I posted them on Mondays and Fridays was that I saw a lot of people checking them out more on those days, so I made it more for my readers, but once I realized I didn’t have enough work for my audience (you guys), I had to come up with a better plan.

So, for the New Year, chapters of my next book will be published on Mondays. Sorry for the long ramble, but writers tend to do it.

-My Writing

This was where I labeled my books ‘My Writing’, but that is changing. Which I will be going back to EVERY chapter for each book and getting rid of the ‘My Writing’ title because I have something bigger and better planned for it.

Here is what is starting to go in this category:

  • 365 Days of Writing
    • I saw it on Pinerest that some of them where doing writing prompts for every day for 365 days of the year, which I am very excited to start the beginning of this upcoming year!
    • Basically, I will be posting something everyday, for my writing prompt, but what it is about is a surprise for you guys!
  • Friday’s Short Stories
    • Every Fridays, I will be picking a theme or genre and writing a short story on that particular theme or genre.
    • If you know me, I love writing about romance and love, but I am very excited to try this out, as well! I will also be posting what theme or genre I will be doing on my Facebook Page, so if you guys want to try it out with me as well!

-Reviews

Image result for reviews

This is something new that I want to try out. The reviews can be on anything, from books, T.V. Shows, movies, products, etc. I have a plan that I want to try and split it up, so that the reviews aren’t about just books, or just movies.

I don’t have a plan on what day I planned on doing them on, but I think Thursdays, once a month, I will do a review, if not, every other week. Like I said, this is something new and I will also make a video to go with it as well, than just a normal written review.

-Wrestling (WWE)

So, for me, it was very stressful to do a re-cap of Raw and Smackdown, that’s why I stopped and the fact that I don’t watch them until the weekend. It didn’t make sense to keep doing it unless I was posting the same day that Raw and Smackdown aired.

Superstar of the Week and Hall of Famer of the month was also very stressful, but let’s talk about why. When I thought about doing it, I thought it was a great idea, I loved the fact that I picked a male and female superstar and talked about them, but I felt that I was rushing each one.

Instead of taking the time to write about them, I felt that I didn’t take the time to really write about them. I’m sorry if that doesn’t make any sense, but as a writer, I like to make sure that everything I post is something that is worth reading and I really rushed those ones.

Here is how I’m going to learn from my mistakes:

  • Superstars of the Month
    • These are going to be written a month in advance, but twice a month, I will post a male superstar of the month the first week of the month.
    • And a female superstar of the month the last week of the month.
    • January, we will start out with the Raw brand and then switch off every month. I will still post on Wednesdays for this topic.
  • Pay-Per-Views
    • So, instead of recapping Raw and Smackdown, I will be doing it for the PPV’s. Which are usually on Sundays and I usually watch these live.
    • I figured this would be a little easier for me to do, than trying to recap Raw and Smackdown.

-Podcasts/YouTube Channel

Image result for youtube channel

Yes, podcasts are still a iffy. I am not sure that I will bring them back or not. It is something that I would still love to do, but I have realized that it might be better with another person with me.

So, for podcasts, they are currently not in the plan for the New Year, but if you want me to keep doing them or thing they were worth me putting the time in, then I will possibly think about it.

My YouTube Channel will become more active in the New Year. I am going to make sure that any craft projects, reviews, and my Sims Series are uploaded more. I have a plan to make sure to work on my Sims Series more and make sure that I upload a new episode every month, if not, twice a month.

For the craft projects, basically a how-to’s and updates to any of my finished projects, especially the temperature blanket. Like I said, I have a lot to plan in the upcoming new year.

There it is! The plan for the upcoming new year. I will try my best to post more stuff, but thank you for all being so patient! If I do post anything, it might be for my store or new craft projects. I do want to have some new patterns for you guys!

What’s Going On For My Blog, YouTube Channel, and Facebook Page?

Hey Dearies! It has been awhile since I’ve posted a blog post and I wanted to chat up with you about what has been happening in my life and the future of my blog, YouTube channel, and Facebook page.

I’m NOT done! Making this very clear! I ain’t quitting any time soon!

I’ve had a lot going on in my personal life and we also had a death in the family. I’m doing my best to mourn over our family’s lost, it’s a lot easier said than done. So, if I’m not able to post stuff on here or any of my social media platforms, please be patient with me.

Another thing that is happening is that there is a lot going on in my mind. The holidays can be very difficult for me because of the lost of my son. It can be difficult to do some stuff with my daughter and realize I won’t ever be able to do it with my son.

Anyway, that’s what has been going on, but let’s talk about what the future is going to be like for the following platforms of mine.

My Facebook Page/Online Business (Katie’s Craft Studio):

I’m very active, when it comes to my Facebook page, so if you are ever looking for an update, check it out! It is where I will mostly post any updates or when blog posts are going to be out.

The online business, I am trying to get some more stuff together, working on a logo and business card. If you want to order anything that I offer, you can send me an e-mail or message me on my Facebook page for the time being.

I am currently working on a online order form for my small business, but it is still in the works. I’ll update the status of that on my Facebook page. I have thought about Etsy, but I want to offer more products, but I need to have the clients to order them first. Again, I’ll be posting an update on it.

My Blog:

Yes, I will still be doing my blog. I have a couple new ideas, just to make sure that I am active everyday. I am also still working on Unclear 2, which I will explain that in a second.

Starting January 1st, I will be doing the 365 blog posts, it’s like a writing prompt which can help be become a better blogger and writer, so that will be public for your viewing pleasure.

Unclear 2 is in the works, it is out on Wattpad and I have been updating it, very slowly, but I will be doing a ‘short story’ of the month where I have a set theme and I have to write a short story on that theme or topic.

I’ll start doing reviews about anything. From books, TV shows, movies, or products! I’ve always wanted to do this, so for next year, I’m going to try my best to make it happen, at least once a month!

As for Crafty Sassy, I am going to have a plan on what items I would like to show every Tuesday. I can go live on my Facebook page, but I feel it would be better to give you guys an actually video on how to make some of the stuff, but more edited and clear to understand. Which will be posted on my blog and on my YouTube page, but we will get to that.

For wrestling and WWE stuff, I’m going to try and figure something out with that because I still love watching it, but it might just be for the pay-per-views and what I thought about the matches. I have thought about doing just a Superstar of the month and not every week because I feel like I have rushed most of them and I want to take the time to make them better.

The gaming part of my blog will be more active! I have a few ideas and I am actually going to try and live stream for my YouTube channel. I will also record myself showing how to’s- for Minecraft, Sims, etc.

YouTube Channel (KatiePurrPurr):

Nope, I’m also not done for this either. Although, I am working on getting a better camera because the one I have isn’t the best, when it comes to going live. So for now, I’ll try my best to ‘work with it’, but it isn’t going to be the best thing ever. I also need to get some better lighting as well.

The Sims series, I am working on it, right now, I do have a problem with the Sims because I need them to get to the weekend days, so that I can film. I will also have different idea for the series, I’m going to ‘free film’, basically filming without having a script. I’ve never done that before, but it will be new to me!

The second episode is in the works, I just need to film it and then I will go from there.

So, a few things are changing for my platforms, but I’m not done! I’m not giving up! I just need to get back on track, which I will be on January 1st of 2019. For the time being, I will do my best to post stuff, but it might just be Crafty Sassy stuff.

Thank you for all that have supported me and have stayed with me through this progress!
