Crafty Sassy: Top 6 Crocheted Hanging Towels

Hey Dearies! So, when I was looking for patterns for last week’s post, I ended up finding a few that I didn’t want to put on that list, just because these deserve a list of their own.

As a beginner, theses towel toppers are simple and really easy to make, but not only are they simple, but they are also hanging towels or have the crochet towel toppers, but instead of crocheting on top of a towel, for these projects, we are crocheting the entire thing!

I find these so amazing and super cute! Although, I’m not sure whether theses would be considered to be a ‘decoration’ or for ‘actual’ use? It might depend on the type of yarn you use or if you would rather use an actual kitchen towel or one that’s been crocheted.

Note: These are NOT my patterns, all rights go to the original creators themselves. I will be leaving a link for each of the patterns.

  1. Chevron Kitchen Towel

This crochet kitchen towel is perfect for learning to switch colors, not to mention, this is perfect for kitchens that don’t really have a set theme. These are very simple to make, but also really fun to mix and match different colors for different holidays.

2. Farmhouse Striped Kitchen Towel

If you are looking for a simple, yet plain crochet towel, this one is perfect for just that! Not only is it a hanging towel, but a very simple one at that, especially for those that don’t really know what they have for a ‘kitchen theme’. Not to mention, I see these as a great seller item for craft fairs.

If you are looking for a more abstract towel for your kitchen, these are perfect for your liking! Not only can you play with the different colors, but the design is something you don’t normally see. This design also looks like it would be really fun to try out, not to mention the border that goes around it completely, adds a nice touch!

5. Happy Hanging Towel

Another simple and towel, but the difference between this one and the others, is that this towel doesn’t need buttons! So, if you want to make a towel topper, but don’t have buttons, then this towel is perfect! These seem more like a bathroom towel, but depending on picky you are with your designs, they seem very universal.

6. Ocean Waves Towel

Last, but not least, the reason why this one is last is because of this towel having not one, but two buttons to hold this up. Not only that, but the design itself, I’m a big fan into the ocean and waves, just looking at this towel makes me wish summer would hurry up!

Unforgotten – Chapter 38

Athena’s P.O.V.
I looked around, wondering if I was in heaven, everything looked so familiar to me. I knew I wasn’t with everyone else, instead, I felt like I was our old house.

I sat up, looking around my old room, where there were posters hanging on the wall, tons of yarn and crochet books all over my desk, with a basket next to the side of my bed where my finished projects laid.

As I glance at the end of my bed, I noticed the blanket I crocheted for Ricky. Was I dead? I asked myself, I couldn’t tell if this was a dream or it was really happening. I got up from my bed and exit my room, I heard the sound of a baby crying, it sounded like it was coming from my parent’s room.

I slowly walked up to the room, as I approached, the door slowly opened, as my eyes widen, I saw my mother, rocking a tiny baby in the old rocking chair that she used to rock Logan and me in. I felt my eyes watered as she looked up from the baby and smiled when she saw me.

“I missed it when you and your brother were this little.” She said, looking back down at the baby and smiled. “You used to smile when you sleep, Logan, on the other hand, would suck his thumb if he didn’t have his pacifier.”

I walked closer towards her and the baby she held. I cried more, thinking that death had really caught up to me, as I touched my mother’s hand. She felt warm and alive that it made me feel that this must be what death is like.

She finally looked up at me, as I watched the baby’s eyes drift off to sleep. “I never thought that I would be the one to leave you all first.” She looked up at me and I looked over at her, she still had started to cry. “I’m so sorry I treated you and your brother the way I did. I was so caught up in what would happen to you both that I made it impossible for you to live life better than I did.”

“Mom, it’s okay. We both understand now.” I was able to choke up as I placed my hand on her shoulder, she then carefully placed her head on my hand, I could feel more of her warmth. “Am -I” I was about to ask, but she read my mind before I could answer.

“Dead? Not exactly.” She said, lifting her head from my hand and standing up, with the baby in hand. “That’s why you are able to still see me.”

“How so? Am I like in the in-between of life and death?” I asked.

“Sort of, but your Aunt is making sure that you will be alive.” I watched as my mother’s eyes got all watery. “I watched you, Athena. I saw what happened and if your Aunt Marie didn’t do what she thought was right, you might not be living.”

I looked over at the baby, that had started to cry. “What did she do?” I asked, but as my mother looked down at the baby, there was a look of sorry, when she looked down at the baby, I started to back away from them both until I hit the wall. “That’s not-”

“It is. She is giving you a second chance to live, Athena. You just need to take the baby and you’ll be able to be with your father and brother again.” She explained as I covered my mouth with my hands.

I couldn’t believe that my Aunt would take her possibly only chance to have a child, just to save my life. I didn’t want to look at that baby nor take it. I didn’t want to have another chance at life if I was taking another person’s chance to have a life.

“I can’t take it, Mom, I just can’t,” I said as I slid down the wall, crying.

“Yes, you can, Athena. Do this for me, I want to do whatever it is you have to do to be happy. Your father and brother need you more than ever, your father can’t lose me and you too.” She got down on the floor next to me, holding the baby closer to me, it stopped crying when it got closer to me.

I looked into my mother’s eyes as she begged, “Please, Athena.”

I finally caved as I shook my head yes. “Okay…”

“One more thing,” My mother said before handing the baby over to me. “Tell your father and brother how much I love them.”

I nodded as more tears started to slip down my cheek. “I will. I love you, Mom.” I said as she gave me a hug.

“I love you so much, Athena. One day, we will see each other, but now, go and be happy and take care of your brother and dad for me.” She whispered in my ear as she slowly pulled away and leaving the baby in my arms.

I closed my eyes and held that tiny little baby in my arms, as everything started to grow bright around myself. I watched as that tiny baby went into my soul, slowly disappearing from my arms.

Everything turned back to black.

Then, I gasped for breath, my eyes opened as I started to shift my head around to see my brother and father’s eyes widened as they saw me. I couldn’t help by cry as they helped me sit up.

My father wrapped me into his arms as I held him tight. “I thought I lost you,” He said as I held him tighter. I looked over at my brother as my father let me go, just enough to pull us all in for a family hug.
